Beurzen voor het doorgeven van vakmanschap

Minister Gatz lanceert een nieuw reglement waarmee hij beurzen wil toekennen voor het doorgeven van vakmanschap. Vakmanschap wordt daarbij gezien als een vorm van immaterieel cultureel erfgoed dat in de hoofden en handen van mensen zit: kennis en vaardigheden met wortels in traditie. Het kan gaan om ambachten, maar bijvoorbeeld ook om bepaalde podiumkunsten. Het doorgeven van dit soort vakmanschap, vaak een intensief en tijdrovend proces, is een voorwaarde om het levend te houden. Daarom wil minister Gatz de nodige ondersteuning geven aan vakmensen die iemand een aantal maanden in de leer nemen en hem of haar de knepen van het vak leren. Door deze intense samenwerking kan vakmanschap worden doorgegeven en gaat het niet verloren.
Een beurs kan worden aangevraagd door partners die in een meester-leerling-traject vakmanschap willen doorgeven. Meester en leerling(en) vragen de beurs samen aan, voor maximaal twee jaar. Per maand kunnen de partners samen 2.000 euro krijgen als ondersteuning voor het leertraject, met een maximaal bedrag van 48.000 euro per traject. Aanvragen kunnen tot uiterlijk 15 september 2018 worden ingediend.
Met dit nieuwe reglement voor het doorgeven van vakmanschap wil Vlaanderen een impuls geven aan het beleid rond immaterieel cultureel erfgoed. Met de ondersteuning van vakmanschap kan Vlaanderen zich bovendien internationaal profileren. Ook de UNESCO roept immers op om dit soort erfgoed door te geven, onder de vlag van Living Human Treasures, ‘levende menselijke schatten’.
