Beurs voor het doorgeven van (circus-)vakmanschap

Een meester geeft zijn vakmanschap door aan één of meerdere leerlingen. Voor de overdracht van vakmanschap kunnen meester en leerling(en) een beurs krijgen van de Vlaamse overheid. Twee jaar geleden kreeg circusartiest Bram De Laere een beurs om zich te verdiepen in 200 jaar circusclownerie.
De voorbije twee jaar kon je in Circusmagazine de rubriek ‘Laat me niet lachen’ lezen. In die rubriek plaatste circusartiest Bram De Laere telkens een belangwekkende Belgische circusclown in de spotlights. De artikelenreeks schept een beeld van het meester-leerlingtraject van Bram De Laere. Hij kreeg een beurs om de geschiedenis van 200 jaar circusclownerie niet verloren te laten gaan.
De Vlaamse overheid geeft leerlingen en meesters nu opnieuw de kans om een beurs aan te vragen. De beurs dient als financiële ondersteuning voor vakmensen die één of meerdere leerlingen een aantal maanden (met een maximum van twee jaar) in de leer neemt om hem of haar de knepen van het vak te leren.
Vakmanschap wordt daarbij gezien als een vorm van immaterieel cultureel erfgoed dat in de hoofden en handen van mensen zit: kennis en vaardigheden met wortels in traditie. Vakmanschap wordt daarbij heel breed gezien: het kan gaan om ambachten, maar bijvoorbeeld ook om bepaalde toegepaste kunsten of podiumkunsten, zoals circuskunsten. Het doorgeven van dit soort vakmanschap is nodig om het levend te houden.
Voor een traject dat start tussen 1 januari en 1 juli 2022 kan je nog tot 15 september 2021 een beurs aanvragen. Alle informatie is te vinden op de website van de Vlaamse overheid.
