Workshop circuskritiek

Hedendaags circus is een kunstvorm in volle ontwikkeling. Meer en meer creaties hoeven niet onder te doen voor het betere werk binnen theater, dans en performance. Maar het kritisch schrijven over circus heeft nog een grote inhaalbeweging te maken. Daarom organiseerde Circuscentrum samen met rekto:verso, Etcetera, Theater op de Markt en Les Halles een intensieve workshop circuskritiek in oktober-november 2015.
Het concept
Luisteren, kijken, schrijven, discussiëren. In wisselende volgorde. We zien een hele rist internationale voorstellingen, hebben het over de kunst (of het ambacht) van recenseren, maar evenzeer over hedendaags circus in al zijn vormen. In welke mate kan je met theater- of dansogen naar een circusvoorstelling kijken? Wat maakt circus anders? Hoe kan je er kritisch en diepgaand over schrijven zonder al te technisch te worden? Gedurende zeven dagen in oktober-november 2015 gaan we samen via individuele recensies op zoek naar een eigen taal om deze nieuwe kunstvorm optimaal in beeld te brengen en te analyseren.
