Meerjarige focus op Frankrijk

Bij de bekendmaking van de subsidies aan de circussector voor 2021-2025, kondigde minister Jambon aan ook te willen investeren in de promotie van het Vlaamse circus in Frankrijk. Hij reserveerde hiervoor een budget van 250.000 euro. Via een internationale focus op Frankrijk worden zowel uitwisseling van expertise, verhoogde speelkansen als extra zichtbaarheid beoogd.
De driejarige focus loopt van 2021 tot 2023 en heeft tot doel de verdere professionalisering van onze circussector duurzaam te ondersteunen, nieuwe initiatieven – zoals de circuswerkplaatsen – internationaal te verankeren en te lanceren, en de internationale uitstraling van de volledige sector te vergroten. Momenteel worden de nodige keuzes gemaakt om tot een relevant en concreet programma te komen.
De komende drie jaar zal Circuscentrum in opdracht van de Vlaamse overheid dit traject coördineren. Om optimaal aan te sluiten bij de behoeften van de sector is er een officiële stuurgroep aangesteld die expertise inbrengt en mee de voortgang van het traject bewaakt.
