Er valt veel te zeggen voor de artistieke doe-het-zelverij, of om het met de Bond Zonder Naam te zeggen: “Beter een goeie camera, dan een slechte regisseur”.
Wat je zelf doet doe je beter, maar toch kan een beetje hulp van buitenaf wonderen doen. Knopen worden makkelijker doorgehakt, er wordt al eens een nieuwe invalshoek belicht en het artistieke kaf wordt makkelijker van het artistieke koren gescheiden. De creatieve vonken vliegen in het rond en het eindresultaat is meer dan de som van de delen…
Wie van plan is zijn voorstelling, zijn creatie, z’n bloed, zweet en tranen geheel of gedeeltelijk in handen te geven van een regisseur, choreograaf of dramaturg kan echter maar beter voorbereid zijn. Of om het met de Bond Zonder Naam te zeggen: “Goede afspraken maken goede voorstellingen”.
Ontpopt de persoon in kwestie zich tot een halve dictator, van plan om halverwege de repetities een staatsgreep te plegen? Verdient hij of zij straks een veelvoud van de hardwerkende artiesten en technici? Neemt zijn of haar naam straks de helft van de affiche in beslag? Hebben we bij nader inzien te maken met een egotrippende, met dure woorden goochelende, over het paard getilde, hoog-met-zichzelf-oplopende-maar-eigenlijk-volslagen-incompetente kwal?
In dat geval vrienden circusartiesten, niet aarzelen. Houd de eer aan uzelf, red wat er te redden valt en schrijf uit die C4! Of om het met de Bond Zonder Naam te zeggen: “Wie zijn première liefheeft, spaart de roede niet.”
